A New Haven Clock Co. calendar clock made for the National Calendar Clock Company in New Haven, Connecticut. "Column Calendar Clock." 223124.

This case is in very good original condition. The case is pine and retains its' original imitation-grained veneer pattern. This is executed with ink. The half columns mounted to the sides of the case are applied. They are paint-decorated in a tortoiseshell design. The caps are gilt with gold. The black paper dials measure 7 inches in diameter and are trimmed with a brass ring or a stepped bezel. The upper dial is the time dial, and the hours are formatted in Roman-style numerals. The movement is brass and designed to run eight days on a full wind and to strike the hour on the hour on a wire gong mounted inside the case. The Arabic numerals located on the outside of the lower calendar dial will display the day of the month. This day date is indicated by the brass hand. This is a simple calendar mechanism in that you manually adjust it for the variations in lengths of months. The front of this clock is fitted with a large glass door that protects both dials.

The clock case is 27.5 inches tall, 15.75 inches wide, and 5 inches deep and was made circa 1890.
