A French made Crystal Regulator mantel clock. An oval shaped case.
This very attractive Crystal Regulator was made in France circa 1890. This case is constructed in brass and features an oval form and brass apllicays. The brass has been recently polished and lacquered. All four sides of the case are fitted with glass panels. These panels feature beveled edges and are bowed into to conform to the oval shape of the case. The front and back of this case are fitted with doors. These provide access to the dial and movement.
The Vincenti made movement is brass and is very good quality. It is spring powered and designed to run eight days on a full wind and to strike each hour on the hour on a wire gong which is mounted to the back of the movement. This clock also strikes once on the half hour. The pendulum is the traditional format of two glass vials supported in a brass frame.
The porcelain dial is colorful decorated with a floral wreath. This dial is trimmed with a decorative brass bezel. The time is indicated by the decoratively designed brass hands.
Height 10.25 inches. Width 7.50 inches. Depth 6 inches.
