This porcelain case clock was made by the Ansonia Clock Company of Brooklyn, New York, circa 1894. The model is called “Wyoming.” This colorful example is in cobalt blue.
This decorative clock is in good original condition. The coloring is applied over a white background. The colors include multiple shades of blues, yellows, purples, reds, and greens. The gilt highlights are applied to the case after firing. They remain in excellent condition and show very little wear. The French sash or bezel is fitted with beveled glass. Through this, one can view the enamel dial.
The dial is enamel and measures five inches in diameter. Roman-style numerals demark the hours. Two nicely shaped steel hands indicate the time.
The eight-day movement is brass construction and strikes the hour as well as the half-hour on a gong mounted inside the case. The movement is die-stamped on the back plate by the Manufacturer.
This clock was made circa 1894. This case stands approximately 11.75 inches tall and 10.25 inches wide, and 5.25 inches deep.
