Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. Model Number 2.5 The Brisbane. 223177.
This is the Ithaca No. 2 1/2 Brisbane Double Dial Hanging Calendar Clock. The case is constructed in black walnut and has been lovingly re-finished. The color and the tones are excellent. The Stickley Brothers of Ithaca heavily influenced the case design. It features architectural elements, including a pierced gallery, numerous reeded columns, a pyramidal rosette, drop aprons, and turned wooden finials. Both metal display dials measure 11 inches in diameter. The dials are paper and are in original condition. The graphics are painted in black. The time dial features Roman-style hour numerals. Fancy-pierced hands will display the time. The lower calendar dial has 31 date numbers and cutout apertures exposing the month and day cylinders. The center of this dial is signed with the Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. logo. The fancifully carved wooden pendulum swings in front of this calendar dial. This is a very unusual presentation.
The brass made double spring driven 30-day time-only movement. The lower perpetual calendar mechanism is in good running condition and has original barrels and labels. The pendulum bob is turned and decorated with a complex pattern.
This clock case is 43 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. It was made circa 1900.
