A deep bell with scroll nut and chrysanthemum boss surmounts the mottled acid-etched brass case. Rectangular-shaped brass pillars join the brass top and bottom plates. The dial has a fixed pierced brass hand at the center. It turns against a black and red lacquer dial that features gilt figures. The weight-driven movement features a verge escapement and countwheel strike. The clock is presented within a glazed case on a tapering base decorated with a traditional landscape. The front of the case opens as a door to access the weights. Handles are positioned on three sides.
This clock is approximately 22.5 inches tall. The bottom of the base is 9 and 3/8 inches square.
