Daniel Pratt & Sons of Reading and Boston, Massachusetts

This is an oversized octagon top cottage clock. The standard size measures 9 inches tall. This example is just better than 14.5 inches in length.

This fine example features a case that is veneered in rosewood. The graining exhibited in the case sides is excellent. The dial is painted on tin. The time and strike movement is brass construction and of good quality. It is spring powered and designed to run thirty hours on a full wind. It will also strike each hour on a wire gong that is mounted inside the case. The label is pasted on the backboard and is in fair condition. The original painted tablet features an eagle sitting on a shield clutching a number of arrows and sprigs. It is in excellent condition. This nice nice clock measures 14.5 tall and was made circa 1880.
