It is constructed in brass and designed to strike the hours and half hours on a wire gong mounted inside the case. The sound is very good. The wooden case is constructed out of mahogany. It is nicely detailed, having applied wooden moldings, canted and fluted decorated corners, brass ball feet, a brass bezel, and decorative inlays. This case measures 13.5 inches high, 10.5 inches wide, and 6 inches deep. The porcelain circular dial is signed “Seth Thomas.” It measures 5.75 inches in diameter. This clock was made circa 1915.
